A little About Us…
The Stone Ridge Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1939. The company has been serving with all volunteer members since its creation. Established by farmers to protect their corn fields, the apparatus were stored at the Town Highway Garage until a building on Cooper Street was bought, making it Stone Ridge’s first home. In 2005 the district bought property at the intersection of Route 209 and Cottekill Road and erected a large four bay station where we still operate out of today. A 1986 GMC Gruman pumper gave the company our nickname, “The Ridge Runners.”
